Porcelain Veneers
Veneers are thin porcelain shells that can cover a number of cosmetic imperfections such as cracked, chipped, or stained teeth. In addition to traditional veneers, Dr. Bharathi Reddy also offers LUMINEERS®, which are incredibly thin porcelain veneers that require minimal to no tooth alteration. During your initial consultation, your dentist will help you determine the treatment that best enhances your smile. Contact Always Genial Dental Care P.C. to learn more about porcelain veneers placed at our practice in The Colony.
What Are Porcelain Veneers?
Porcelain veneers are extremely thin shells of porcelain that attach to the front of your teeth. They can conceal a number of cosmetic concerns, including:
Dr. Bharathi Reddy typically places veneers in two office visits. During your first appointment, the dentist will remove a very small layer of enamel from your teeth. This makes room for the porcelain veneer and prevents it from looking bulky and unnatural. Next, your dentist will take impressions of your teeth and send them to our partner lab, known in the DFW area for their high-quality work. Their skilled technicians can create veneers that blend seamlessly with your smile, and match the color and shape of surrounding teeth.
When the veneers are finished, our dentist will gently etch the front of your teeth to allow for a stronger bond. Next, the dentist will check the fit and appearance of your veneers, and attach them with dental cement.
LUMINEERS®
LUMINEERS® are similar to traditional veneers, but because they are much thinner, your dentist will not need to remove as much enamel, if any at all. This means that LUMINEERS® are a reversible procedure that will not require a restoration if you choose to have them removed in the future. Dr. Basawaraj has been placing LUMINEERS® for 10 years, and can guide you in choosing the correct restorations for your needs.
Dental Bonding
At Always Genial Dental Care P, we also offer cosmetic bonding as an alternative to veneers and LUMINEERS®. During this treatment, your dentist will apply a tooth-colored composite resin to the front of your teeth, carefully sculpting and polishing the material to achieve a lifelike appearance. Dr. Reddy uses bonding to achieve many of the same effects as veneers and LUMINEERS®. Patients should keep in mind that the resin does not reflect light in the same way as porcelain, so the results will not look quite as natural. Still, thanks to our dentist’s skill and artistic approach to cosmetic dentistry, bonding can be an excellent way to enhance your smile.
