About Dental Crowns A crown is a tooth-shaped cap that covers a tooth after it has been treated for damage or decay. Crowns serve a number of functions, including:
Creating and Placing Dental Crowns and Bridges Creating and placing custom crowns and bridges begins with any necessary tooth treatments like a root canal, filling, or extraction. Once the tooth is prepared (or, in some cases, once the gums have healed), your dentist will take a mold of your gums and any surrounding teeth. This mold will be sent to our trusted offsite lab, where skilled technicians will use it to create a custom restoration that fits your smile and looks natural among your existing teeth. Creating the restorations usually takes about two to three weeks. In the meantime, you may be provided with a temporary restoration. If you choose traditional implant-supported restorations, you will undergo two surgeries and three to six months of healing time before your restorations are placed. We also offer All-on-4® implants, which can be placed and restored in a single appointment. Dr. Reddy will help you decide which treatment is best for your needs. Restorative Materials At Always Genial Dental Care P.C, we partner with a top-notch dental lab, known throughout the Dallas-Fort Worth area for their superior craftsmanship.
